Lenka X Strawberry Festival

What better way to celebrate Labor Day in Shanghai than by cracking open a cold one and kicking back at the last day of the three-day epic Strawberry Festival?  I would have skipped class anyway if it meant I could rock out with some Chinese Coachella-types. Hosted by Modern Sky, a big time record label in Beijing, Strawberry Fest is one of China's most popular music festivals and has line-ups complete with wasted DJs and imported K-Pop acapella groups.

Postcards from Yunnan

For Spring Break, I thought I would go off the beaten path and travel to China's back country, Yunnan. It was definitely a much needed breath of fresh air away from smoggy Shanghai. I got to experience the colorful cultures of the Naxis and the Tibetans when I traveled to Lijiang and Shangri-la, and I have quite a few embroidered scarves to prove it.

Hey kiddies, I've been m.i.a. for a bit with getting settled in Shanghai and all. But by now, I guess I can say I'm practically a native (or at least I can try to blend in with the locals). The internet really is a wonderful thing, because I can't say I've felt very homesick yet, because home has never really felt too far away. Not much going on except for school, making Chinese friends, and fobby clothes shopping, but Shanghai Fashion Week is coming up. That means I have to devise the perfect outfit that will get me street snapped...

Casual Street Look

This is my current wishlist (though that gorgeous bag will probably not be in my possession anytime soon).  I've always loved simple street style.  I like how casual yet put together this look is.  You can wear this to your local Whole Foods or out with friends.  It's awesome.
